Places to live in Jávea (9): el Puchol

El Puchol (also known as Monte Puchol) is a quiet urbanization located on a small mound north of Jávea. And that's where the name comes from, since 'putxol' means 'small mountain' in Valencian.

Not as well known as other areas of Jávea, Puchol has a particular charm, with houses integrated into the landscape and with an enviable natural environment.

The urbanization, made up of isolated villas and a small group of semi-detached houses, exudes a similar and very Mediterranean architectural style. The person responsible for this is the Galician architect -but who has lived in Jávea since 1963- Manuel Jorge who, in the mid-60s, designed several single-family houses in this area: residential with sinuous shapes, white walls and terracotta latticework that make Puchol an urbanization with a special charm, far removed from the constructions of other more massive and depersonalized urbanizations.

Although there are few vacant plots left to build on in the area, we do find homes for sale, which we can reform and adapt them to our liking and needs.

Good orientation and location

El Puchol is south facing, which means that its temperatures are very mild throughout the year. Its location, between the town center and the Cabo de Sant Antoni Nature Reserve, is privileged, as it is surrounded by nature, but at the same time very close to the town (it can be reached by taking a 20 minutes). The port can also be easily accessed along the old road to the sea, although we will need more time if we go on foot (10 minutes by car).

Sea views

Thanks to being located on a small hill, the views offered by the Puchol are magnificent. From their houses you can see the sea, the bay and two of Jávea's capes: San Antonio and Cap Prim. We can also see the Plana windmills, constructions of the s. XVIII located on the slopes of Montgó.

Quiet and safe area

The Puchol area is very quiet, with little traffic and very safe. The urbanization is inhabited all year round and most of the residents are nationals.
